Everything Home . . . Do you know Liz Diller?

My background is in the past (architecturally speaking), but lately my curiosity has pulled me to the present. I've become increasingly interested in modern architecture, it's advancement and meaning. Liz Diller is arguably the most famous living female architect. Her buildings and spaces evoke emotion, thought, and awe. To see a building of hers is to want to know more. Her NYC based firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro is responsible for some of the City's most notable contemporary spaces. The recent remodel of the Museum of Modern Art, the flexible event space known as the Shed, and the lauded reuse project High Line, expose her diversity and approach to public spaces. "They are less concerned with traditional architectural form and construction than with analyzing the way social conventions or rules dictate the way people use places, objects, and events. Dilller + Scofidio's job as they see it, is to reveal those roles, and where it makes sense, to free us from them" Aaron Betsky of Architecture.
